The baby goslings are now ouside during the day. Donna and Deann built them a pen so they can eat grass and play in the sunshine. They are getting feathers on their wings. We got the eggs from the two big geese we have and hatched in an incubator and now that the little ones are outside the big ones stay by the pen and guard them all day. Wonder if they know they are their kids.
Today as we have for several years on Mothers Day Donna and I go for a walk on top of the hill. The fields up there are ringed with Honey Locust and all around the pond. Its such a beautiful time and one of my favorite times on the farm. The trees hang with big white pods with a heavenly scent.
The babies have been moved to a pen in the barn. They are getting feathers and stand around trying to flap their wings. We wanted to let them out to eat some grass but decided Donna and I decided we are not fast enough to keep up with them. So we will pick grass and take it to them.
